Heavy Rainfall at the Kruger National Park cause some Border Gates, Roads and Camp closure

Anyone looking to visit the Kruger National Park in the very near future should take note of the Roads, Camps and Border post entrance gates that have been closed due to the heavy rainfall reported in the area. The Entrance gates most affected at this point and have therefore have been closed include: Phalaborwa, Crocodile and Giriyondo border post entrances. Bush camps that have temporarily been closed include Biyamiti, Shimuwini, Talamati and Tshokwane picnic site.

SAN Parks helicopter is currently evacuating guests from Tinga Private Lodge that were on the Sweni Wilderness Trail. Roads between Letaba and Olifants and/or Phalaborwa are not accessible. Low level bridge and gravel roads are strictly prohibited.

SANParks will issue the public with further information by this afternoon.
